It's Wine O'Clock Somewhere!

Adam and Cathy, newlyweds in Virginia, have decided to start a wine blog! We enjoy wine and, though we aren't wealthy wine snobs, we love to try different wines and discuss our thoughts about wine. We hope that our blog will spur some great comments from readers and, hopefully, introduce us even more wines to try!

Cheers!

  1. This is an excellent idea, and I would love to know your opinions on buying wine using Groupon. Will and I are doing this for the second time around, but we feel like we're flying blind when we read the descriptions online, since there are no customer testimonies. Is there a better, clearer-headed way to get the best bang for your buck? Or should a Groupon groupie feel confident in the relatively low-risk venture of buying from a reputable company, like Barclay's? Might be a good entry topic :-)

  2. Thanks for the great idea, Molly. I'll look into Groupon and see what I can find. However, off the top of my head, I would go with grape varietals that you know you like. For instance, if Adam and I are in a wine store or grocery or something and we aren't sure what to get, we'll go decide if we're in a red or white mood, then look at Malbecs, Meritages, or Tempranillos (reds) or Gewurztraminer or Moscatos (whites). Once we see a varietal that we like, we'll go with a good price (and avoid certain brands like Yellow Tails). I'm also a bit of European wine snob, so you won't catch me with many California wines...but that's a personal preference. :)

Thanks for the great ideas!! And for following our blog!!
